Pezo Import AB is a speciality coffee importer based in the port city of Malmo, Sweden. We are a small scale, speciality coffee company who supplies superb, freshly harvested raw coffees to businesses in Europe, Middle east and China. We supply customers with an exceptional product at affordable prices and with environmental and ethical credentials that are second to none.
At Pezo Import AB we practise Direct Trade with our coffee suppliers from Latin America and South-west Africa. When you make a purchase with us you will know exactly from where the coffee is grown. You can be assured that the coffee is grown to the highest environmental, sustainable standards and that all staff, including the coffee farmers and workers on the ground are paid a good living wage and are treated fairly and with respect. These values are at the heart of our business model. We are providing a product that treats people and the environment with care, a product that helps communities build a better future in impoverished regions of Latin America. Direct trade means that there are no ‘middle men’ or intermediaries. We work with small, medium and large coffee plantations that we personally visit and sponsor. This ensures a better deal for both the growers and customers and avoids exploitation in the supply chain.
Most of our coffee is certified by the independent Fair Trade organisation, meaning our coffee has been independently checked to confirm our sustainable, environmentally and socially sustainable model. The coffees we sell are: conventional coffee and organic certified coffee. Our coffee plantations are run using natural cultivation and farming methods and no artificial fertilizers and chemicals are used. This is also verified by a third-party organisation. Our organic product and approach ensure not only the healthiest, tastiest product for consumers, but also that our coffee farmers are not subjected to toxic chemicals and that the wider environment is not negatively affected. Chemical treatments and fertilizers are increasingly negatively affecting wildlife and human communities globally. With our main suppliers based in on the edge of the rainforest, it’s critically important that our business does not negatively affect this remarkable eco-system, the largest and most important rainforest on earth.
